You can only wear white between Memorial & Labor Day”

Every now and then we come across these fashion rules that we’re told we  must abide by. Like not wearing white after Labor Day……REALLY? Im not totally against it but I think there’s a time and a place for everything.  And since there will be no more all white parties. You can definitely pack up the halters, sunglasses, shorts and every other item that should only be worn in 90 degrees and above weather. Yes my dears its time to give it up. By now Im positive that there will be no more boat rides, “All White Everything”, or other white themed events going on.

HOWEVER, we dont have to completely give it up. Now some are probably saying to yourself, ”She dont buy my clothes!!  We can wear whatever we want anyway right?”  ** adds next roll**  WRONG! Unless your on an island in St. Tropez some where your NOT doing it.

No you dont have to get rid of everything white. Your just not going to rock all white head to toe. You can definitely get a few pieces to mix up with others without looking like a fashion dont. For example guys just cant live without their Air Force 1′s and we dont knock them for wearing them in the fall/winter, they look good. So can we. From here on there will be no more rules for wearing white after Labor Day. So you can just scratch that off of your list of fashion rules.

What we can do is play with colors like buttercream, offwhite, and eggshells just to avoid all this rule nonsense. I couldnt leave my girlies hanging, so I left you all with some treats u might consider the next time your out and about.  Have fun!

Diesel leather $1,000

Badgley Mischka $200

Kate Spade $225

Marciano $158

Bloomingdales cashmere crew neck $88

“As soon as fashion is universal, its out of date”

 - Marie Von Ebner- Eschenbach

I was looking at my organizer when it finally hit me that its August and the summer is almost over. I said to myself, damn it’s that time of year to change my wardrobe all over AGAIN!!!  Just when I was getting used to rocking mini’s, rompers, and showing some skin I now have to go back to covering up. SMH…

After thinking about the trends going on now I decided that I will not make that big of a change as yet. I feel like now is the time you can play with anything. Which includes experimenting with every trend you think is fashionable since its not too cold for a mini and its not exextremely hot that u cant pair it with a cute blazer.

And for those girls who worked out during off season and still wanna show off there stomachs why not??? Night life is the only scene where u can play with just about any thing.  How many times have we seen a trend taken to the extreme? From those frilly little tutu dresses to leggings that become see through once a camera flash hits them. Not trying to bash anyone cause I have also been on the Fashion DONT list before. But come on why not take a chance at something different.

So I took a look at the celeb forecast to get a glimpse of whats happening now and i must say these items were my favorites you can wear both day and night.

As for the trends dont be surprise if you see me out and about in a mini with colored tights and thigh high boots ((not all at once lol)). But I most definitely will be trying out a midriff top with a pair of high waisted leggings. Like your girl Ciara! Let me know what your favorite pieces are and how you will be mixing it up til the end of summer, lata honeys!!!

So there are mixed feelings whe it comes to dating outside your race. For numerous years, men have dated women outside of their race and some of “their women” become FURIOUS and feel disrespected. But many people ask WHY? Well here are some confessions from two of my co workers who I “secretly” interviewed in regards to this subject.

One of my co workers is Asian and Caucasian and I asked her “How do you feel about the Asain and/or Caucasian men dating outside of their race?” Her response was:

Well I’m not mad at them. If my brother came home with an African American or Hispanic woman, my family would have an issue. I for one don’t care if men of my race date outside the race. I think its cute.”

My other co worker had a “slighty” different outlook on the matter. She is African American and Ialso  asked her “How do you feel about African American men dating outside of their race?” Her response was:

I think they date outside of the race because they can’t handle a strong, intellingent, African American woman and they want a woman who will be their “puppet”. African American men date white women, for instance, because they do what ever they tell them and they don’t stand up for themselves. Personally, I think it’s a sucker move and they need to check themselves.

Ok, so there you have it, two varying opinions. I, personally, don’t care WHO African American men date, so long as they don’t bash and try to degrade the women in their race. That, my friends, will make me want to set it off on a brother. So PINK MONKEY supporters, what is your stance on this topic? I say date and marry who YOU fall in love with and forget what the hell everyone else has to say. In the end, it’s about your happiness. Peace.
